An innovative product from NEON that allows you to better leverage specialty processors by creating an environment that makes IMS, DB2, CICS, TSO/ISPF and batch application workloads eligible for processing on zIIPs or zAAPs.

zPrime redirect services
The process by which NEON zPrime creates an environment that allows work from the System z central processors (CPs) to be handled by specialty processors.

System z specialty processor
A processor that is designed to reduce the cost of mainframe computing by processing workloads alongside the main CPU for the enterprise server.

specialty engine
Any one of the specialty processors (SPs) developed by IBM to offload work from the central processor (CP) to help reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of mainframe computing.

zPrime zIIP eligibility
A workload that is eligible for processing on the System z Integrated Information Processor (zIIP) through the NEON zPrime redirect services.

zPrime zAAP eligibility
A workload that is eligible for processing on the System z Application Assist Processor (zAAP) through the NEON zPrime redirect services.

zPrime offload
The amount of work that NEON zPrime makes eligible for processing on a specialty processor.

zIIP enablement
The process that NEON zPrime uses to make workloads eligible for processing on a the System z Integrated Information Processor (zIIP).

zAAP enablement
The process that NEON zPrime uses to make workloads eligible for processing on a the System z Application Assist Processor (zAAP).

mainframe legacy workload
An existing mainframe workload or application that was designed to use older subsystems and databases such as IMS, CICS, VSAM, ISPF/TSO or DB2.

z/OS Workload Manager (WLM)
The component of z/OS that manages system resources by monitoring and distributing multiple workloads across z/OS images using the classes specified for the workloads.
